Digipak & Advert

We are planning to make a Digipack that attracts attention so when the potential costumers sees it, it persuades them to purchase it. We are also making an advert to advertise our CD to reach a higher amount of costumers.

Here is the first draft of our Digipack:

We haven't completed every part of the digipack yet, these are our first ideas. We are going to improve it and choose the best draft for our final digipack.

This is a new draft of the inside of the digipack:

This was our second idea of the inside of the digipack. We liked this option but we decided to change the background picture for a primary source pricture that is more revelant to the music video.

Final Digipack:

This is how our final digipack looks like. We chose the festival picture to be the front cover as this picture is recognisable from the music video. At the back cover I used a quote from Calvin Harris: "These are the good times in your life, so put on a smile and it'll be alright." This quote is very inspiring and appealing to our target audience. It will persuade the customers to buy our CD.

For the inside we decided to use a landscape picture. This view is also apearing in the music video just like the picture on the CD.

Here is the first draft of our Digipack advert:

I really like the background picture on the advert as it is associated with freedom. However the rest of the advert is a bit boring. We are going to improve it.

This is an updated version of our advert:

I added more pictures and texts in different sizes and fonts. I also included our peoduction company and a barcode at the bottom corners. This version looks more profesional however we still have to make some changes for example the face on the advert.

New draft:

I took out the face from the picture because we found out it is copy right and we cannot use it. The advert still didn't look perfect. We decided to change the background picture to something more relevant to the final product of our music video, and also changed the font of the title. we made it more shiny so it gains attention.

Digipak Advert Analysis

Ellie Goulding

This advert uses black and gold colours to make the potential audience interested. There are little gold dots on Ellie's hair which looks like ferry dust. It gives the image a supernatural feeling which builds tension.

The front is gold and bold. It is bright front of a black background, persuade the viewer to read it and gets stuck in their head.

Rihanna

The advert of Rihanna's new album is using male gaze as Rihanna looking straight into the camera with a wistful but rebellious look. It is an attractive picture of her as she's keeping eye contact with the target audience.

The front is simple and uses white, capital letter on the dark background that says "Coming to a city near you!" The front, colour, capital letter and the explanation mark all building tension to make the viewer interested about the album and buy it. This is how they persuade potential consumers to buy the CD.

Digipak Analysis

Calvin Harris

Electro house digipacks are usually simple. They are using only two or three colours. Here is an example of a Calvin Harris digipack. The only colours appearing black, white and yellow. The black and white self portrait of Calvin Harris is conspicuous front of the yellow background. It pays attention. The front is also very simple and easily readable.

David Guetta

The David Guetta digipack is also simple and appeal to the same audience. The coloures are also black and white with a bright colour at the background (red or purple). The front is bold and white which pays attention.
